I was introduced to the music video “Time to Dance” by The Shoes recently and I was so blown away that I had to write about it. Before watching it I’ll tell you a few reasons why I’m so impressed. The depth of field is tweaked repeatably. The shot seems to be moving in and out of focus often giving it an uneasy feeling. The best example is at 1:52, watch the way the background ‘wiggles’ and shifts. I love this and I think it gives the film an independent, raw sentiment.
